WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

The Manager of Internal Communications plays a critical role in helping Bain’s 18,000 employees stay aligned, engaged, and connected to the firm’s strategy and culture. The role exists to expand communication beyond the CEO and provide structured, targeted messaging that supports leaders across practices and regions, including senior executives.

 

WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM

This individual will work closely with practice leaders, regional managing partners, and office heads to translate complex priorities into clear, actionable messages for diverse global audiences. By combining strong planning skills with exceptional writing, they will help leaders communicate with authenticity and consistency. The Manager will help build coherence in how Bain communicates internally, strengthen employee engagement, and lay the foundation for a more connected, effective global communications model.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

 

Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex business priorities into clear, compelling, and actionable messages. 

Strategic communications planning, with experience contributing to and delivering firmwide campaigns that align with business priorities and culture. 

Strong executive partnership skills, with proven experience supporting and advising senior leaders on communications. 

Project and stakeholder management, able to balance multiple priorities, manage deliverables independently, and align cross-functional teams. 

Deep understanding of internal communications channels, including email, intranet, town halls, newsletters, and digital platforms, with the ability to select and integrate the right mix for impact. 

  • Contribute to and deliver strategic communications plans (30%)
    Support the development and execution of internal communications plans that align with Bain’s strategy and culture, ensuring clarity and consistency across practices and regions.
  • Provide communications support for senior leaders (25%)
    Work with practice leaders, regional managing partners, and office heads to craft message packs, speeches, and executive updates that connect employees to firm priorities.
  • Develop and manage internal campaigns and channels (20%)
    Plan and execute multi-channel campaigns (e.g., town halls, newsletters, intranet, regional initiatives) that engage employees and highlight client and firm successes.
  • Strengthen consistency and alignment across regions (15%)
    Chair calls with regional chiefs of staff, capture local wins and risks, and ensure messages are adapted for regional audiences while maintaining global coherence.
  • Measure and improve communications effectiveness (10%)
    Track reach, engagement, and feedback across channels; use insights to refine strategies and improve impact over time.

 

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience.
  • 6–8+ years of professional experience in corporate or internal communications, ideally within a large, complex, and global organization.
  • Proven success supporting senior executives, including experience preparing communications for leaders at the highest levels.
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skillswith the ability to make complex priorities clear, compelling, and relevant to diverse global audiences.
  • Experience delivering multi-channel communications campaigns, including newsletters, intranet, leadership events, and digital engagement platforms.
  • Strong project and stakeholder management skillscoordinating across functions and regions to deliver aligned, timely communications.
  • Ability to measure communications effectivenessusing data and feedback to improve content and increase employee engagement.

 

 

U.S. Compensation Information

 

Compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, 401(k) plan with an annual employer contribution based on years of service and Bain’s best in class benefits package (details listed below).

 

Some local governments in the United States require a good-faith, reasonable salary range to be included in job postings for open roles. The estimated annualized compensation for this role is as follows:

- In Boston, MA, the good-faith, reasonable annualized full-time salary range for this role is between $96,500 – 116,000, placement within this range will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to experience, education, licensure/certifications, training and skill level

- In Chicago, IL, the good-faith, reasonable annualized full-time salary range for this role is between $92,500 – 111,000, placement within this range will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to experience, education, licensure/certifications, training and skill level

 

- Annual discretionary performance bonus

- This role may also be eligible for other elements of discretionary compensation

- 4.5% 401(k) company contribution, which increases after 3 years of service and is 100% vested upon start date
