Job Summary

 

The Specialist is a key member of the Agile Coaching team that supports TSG product and CoE teams in their agile adoption and implementation. The Specialist will be responsible for driving the adoption of agile frameworks and tools in their assigned teams. In addition, the Specialist will be responsible for various operational work for the Agile Coaching team. The person in this role must have a sufficiently technical background to be able to understand the work their teams are doing and what best practices should be employed. They will be expected to provide guidance to ensure effective application of agile values and principles and adherence to applicable standards.

 

Principal Accountabilities 

 

Agile coaching with assigned teams - 60%
 
 

  • Support the agile adoption and maturity efforts on 1-2 agile teams in TSG
  • Provide coaching to teams and other groups as needed on agile and the various frameworks used at Bain
  • Support facilitation kickoffs, boot camps, and other intensive trainings as required
  • Support coordination efforts as Bain continues to scale agile in an effort to establish processes that allow for effective cross-team collaboration
  • Train and support agile teams in their adoption of required agile tools (examples: Jira, Retrium, Miro)
  • Provide role-specific support for various roles (Technical Product Owners, Product Owners & others)
  • Identify and work to resolve barriers to scaling use of Agile
  • Recognize potential issues or blockers and be able to appropriately escalate

 

Agile Coaching team operations - 40%
 

  • Organize and maintain various content libraries for the Agile Coaching team 
  • Update documentation and training modules, as needed 
  • Contribute to development of new content to be used with teams 
  • Assist in facilitation of global trainings/brown bag sessions 
  • Perform team/user administration of Agile specific tools such as Retrium 
  • Participate in ongoing process improvement initiatives to progress best practices 
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Associate's/Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • 4-7 years of relevant experience on an agile team in a Scrum Master or similar role
  • Experience on Jira or other agile tools experience
  • Understanding of Agile development processes and methodology 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills  
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and dependable 
  • High level of detail orientation • Proactively identifies conflicts or roadblocks, often able to resolve independently 
  • Effective conflict resolution skills 
  • Flexible to shifting priorities 
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and dependable 
  • Ability to work independently and with teams on complex problems and to develop recommendations for solutions  
  • High performance and standards as demonstrated by academic or previous job experience
