WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You’ll be a key member of the Seattle Human Resources (HR) team, working closely with Program Management, Recruiting, Centers of Excellence (CoEs), HR Ops, and local office leadership to support Bain’s consultant program populations. You’ll also be a trusted partner to employees, helping to ensure a consistent and high-quality HR experience.
WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM
In this role, you’ll serve as a dedicated HR Business Partner supporting critical people programs such as onboarding, performance management, talent mobility, compensation, and departures. You’ll bring structure and care to every touchpoint in the employee lifecycle, helping team members grow and thrive while ensuring seamless HR operations.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Administer HR programs related to people movement such as transfers, externships, Business School and LOAs
- Responsible to discuss options, policies, and deadlines with employees
- Liaise between externship companies and Program Manager for externships
- Coordinate all mobility transfers, looping in the Senior Manager and Program Manager teams
- Work with HR Ops to ensure LOA and externship paperwork is completed and information is entered into Workday
- Partner with HR Ops to ensure offer to returns are processed
Thought partner and provide support to Program Management (PM) during the performance management process:
- Partner with Program Management team for relevant cohorts on supporting the ratings and calibration process and support coordination of promotion committees at SAC tenure level
- Read and make suggested edits for case input and annual performance reviews; flagging tricky or complex situations to PMs
- For those members in a performance watch/underperformance situation, ensure check ins are occurring and performance management processes are happening
- Create underperformance and re-tenure memos
- Work with PM to handle tricky performance management situations and provide recommendations as necessary, with oversight from Senior Manager as needed
- Own HR logistics for promotion processes ensuring communications, collaboration with SSC and important deadlines are being met
Partnering with Recruiting, HR & PM, ensure onboarding and training processes for experienced hires are planned and executed
Manage Departures & Transition Program for assigned populations
- Send departure emails, track transition dates and manage calendar updates for next steps.
- Conduct exit interviews for Associate Consultant to Consultant populations and calculate departure bonuses
- Generate, process, and track paperwork as well as ensure local teams are notified such as the Technology Solutions Group/Office Services/Payroll/BCA/Finance when processing departures
- Work with HR Ops to ensure departure information and documentation is entered into Workday
Support compensation processes for assigned populations
- Review monthly Individualized Progression/click-up data
- Review profit sharing data and ensure memos are distributed
- Main point of contact for employees and PM on compensation questions, liaising with compensation CoE as needed
Other Responsibilities
Own externship program for employees including having a thorough understanding of externship policies, and manage communications with employee, Program Manager and potential externship employer
Collect work authorization documentation from new hires and processes in e-Verify
Gather data and run reports as requested in Workday
Working with PM, support class level responses to feedback received from our annual World Wide Employee Survey
Point of contact to respond to basic employee concerns; elevate more serious employee concerns to HR Senior Manager, Employee Relations team, or office leadership
Maintain Professional Development (PD) advisor program and ensure input to bi-annual performance management process
Support staffing operations during case start up and ongoing case tracking and monitoring (including interface with HR SSC on review triggers)
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in relevant Human Resources roles
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and project management skills
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Solid organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong process skills of follow up and follow-through
- Ability to work independently with little guidance from supervisor
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and handle confidential information in a professional manner
- Ability to interact with employees (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient, with the highest levels of professionalism
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); Workday experience is a plus

U.S. Compensation Information
Compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, 401(k) plan with an annual employer contribution based on years of service and Bain’s best in class benefits package (details listed below).
Some local governments in the United States require a good-faith, reasonable salary range be included in job postings for open roles. The estimated annualized compensation for this role is as follows:
- In Washington state, the good-faith, reasonable annualized full-time hourly salary range for this role is between $31.73 - $37.98 placement within this range will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to experience, education, licensure/certifications, training and skill level
- Annual discretionary performance bonus
This role may also be eligible for other elements of discretionary compensation
- 4.5% 401(k) company contribution, which increases after 3 years of service and is 100% vested upon start date
