WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You’ll be a key part of our Texas Program Management and Staffing team and collaborate closely with the broader Consulting Programs team, Human Resources, and Shared Services. Your work will support the professional development and staffing experiences of our consulting team in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.
WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM
As a Specialist on the Consulting Programs team, you’ll deliver both strategic program support and critical operational coordination. You’ll be central to the team’s rhythm—driving staffing logistics, managing program calendars, and helping improve the effectiveness of people-focused processes. This is a hands-on role with meaningful impact across the entire consulting staff lifecycle.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Staffing Operations & Planning
- Support new case staffing logistics: surveys, availability tracking, communications, system entry, and onboarding materials.
- Maintain visibility on active case assignments and pipeline emails.
- Coordinate planning and execution of people meetings with consulting leadership.
- Help prioritize content, track KPIs, and improve meeting outcomes.
- Approve vacation requests as needed for consulting staff.
Professional Development Support
- Drive the bi-annual ratings process for consulting staff by coordinating input from line managers and ensuring policy consistency.
- Support promotion committees by organizing input materials, driving feedback processes, and escalating data gaps when needed.
- Manage advisor and mentor assignments, keeping dashboards and records up to date.
- Monitor joiner/leaver activity and manage ad hoc assignments as needed.
- Ensure accurate and timely review triggers and oversee overdue review processes.
Ad Hoc Support
- Help identify trainers for in-office trainings.
- Run reports, manage surveys, and support consulting talent initiatives as needed.
ABOUT YOU
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with a customer service mindset.
- Proven ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
- Experience juggling multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to co-locate in office 2–3 days/week.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Liberal Arts, or related field (or equivalent experience).
U.S. COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, 401(k) plan with an annual employer contribution based on years of service, and Bain’s best-in-class benefits package (details listed below).
Some local governments in the United States require a good-faith, reasonable salary range to be included in job postings for open roles. The estimated annualized compensation for this role is as follows:
- In Texas (Houston and Austin), the good-faith, reasonable annualized full-time salary range for this role is between $65,000 and 77,000; placement within this range will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to experience, education, licensure/certifications, training and skill level.
- Annual discretionary performance bonus
- This role may also be eligible for other elements of discretionary compensation
- 4.5% 401(k) company contribution, which increases after 3 years of service and is 100% vested upon start date
