The BCN comprises of Consulting Services, Knowledge Services and Shared Services.
What you’ll do
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Specialist, Tax to lead and manage our tax compliance and reporting activities in India. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all direct and indirect tax activities, ensuring compliance with Indian tax regulations, risk management and identifying tax-saving opportunities in line with applicable laws. The Tax specialist will work closely with internal teams including regional and global finance team, global tax, external consultants, and government authorities to manage audits, filings, and tax planning.
Direct Tax (Including Transfer Pricing):
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of corporate income tax returns.
- Handle corporate tax filings, advance tax computations and tax provisions.
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of response to tax notices, tax assessments, and appeals, adhering to regulatory requirements and deadlines.
- Manage and lead tax audit in line with the Income Tax Act, 1961.
- Review transfer pricing documentation and compliance in coordination with external consultants and global tax team.
- Coordinate and manage components of withholding tax compliance.
- Day-to-day activities include analysis and documentation of cross border transactions and verification of proper recording of transactions in the financial records.
- Support the preparation and alignment of US GAAP annual tax provision process with the global tax team.
Indirect Tax (GST):
- Oversee and manage the compliance of Goods and Services Tax (GST), audits, reconciliations, and addressing any compliance issues or discrepancies.
- Ensure timely preparation and accurate filing of GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, ISD returns, and finalization and submission of Annual GST returns.
- Monitor and review GST input reconciliation as per books with GSTR-2B to prevent any GST credit losses.
- Ensure timely preparation and filing of GST refund claims and work closely with consultants and tax authorities for resolution.
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of GST assessments, tax notices and related proceedings.
Coordination among teams and third party:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (Regional/global finance, global tax, legal, business function teams etc.) to ensure end-to-end compliance.
- Co-ordinate with teams for collating documents required to be filed with departments.
Tax Research:
- Conduct periodic tax risk assessments and propose improvements to enhance governance.
- Update knowledge on a regular basis for evolving provisions of Direct & Indirect Taxes and new returns/processes/changes, etc.
About you
- Education: CA (Chartered Accountant)/CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
- Experience: 5–6 years of experience in Indian direct and indirect tax compliance and advisory, preferably in a multinational or large corporate setting.
- Strong knowledge of the Income Tax Act, 1961, GST law, and relevant international tax regulations.
- Hands-on experience in handling tax assessments, audits, and litigation.
- Proficient in MS Excel and accounting/tax platforms (SAP).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to handle highly confidential information in a professional, mature manner.
- Willingness to work in flexible work schedules based on Global Time-Zone requirements.
