WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM
The Senior Specialist, Global PD & Performance will play a role in driving the success of Bain’s Global PD & Performance team, responsible for redesigning Bain’s PD & Performance approach, standards, systems, and processes across all talent populations. The Global PD & Performance team will focus on sourcing and scaling best practices, designing effective and efficient processes, and partnering with TSG to develop software solutions to support all regions and talent populations. Global PD & Performance work will focus on generating and implementing solutions that help Bain deliver more value to our clients by better coaching and developing our teams, strengthening our employee value proposition, and supporting a more inclusive, equitable workplace and culture.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Essential Functions
- In partnership with the Global PD & Performance team and reporting to the Director, support Bain’s PD & Performance strategy, with an initial differential focus on Expert Client Delivery, by assisting with the redesign of standards, systems and processes associated with Ongoing Professional Development, Reviews, Ratings, Promotions, and Performance Improvement
- Support migration of Wave 1 Expert Client Delivery case and PD reviews to Bain’s future state PD & performance system, Trellis in Q2 2026, including partnering with change management, TSG, and development and design teams to support launch, training, and live support; partner on design and development of Wave 2 Expert Client Delivery design and migration, including gathering and prioritizing net new requirements, design, and tradeoffs
- Support development of all standards and tools required for performance appraisal and professional development at Bain
- Help identify solutions to Expert Client Delivery strategic PD and Performance questions via developing hypotheses, gathering input and proposing final recommendations
- Work with service lines to identify and synthesize best practices, process improvements, and cultural/behavioral shifts required to realize PD & Performance vision
- Assist with process redesign for key processes (e.g., promotion processes, ratings calibration processes) with a focus on mitigating bias and enhancing efficiency
- Develop training materials, global COE guidelines, and playbooks required to support new system and processes for all talent populations
- Be a culture-carrier who embodies Bain’s PD & Performance values and Operating Principles and an internal champion of our guiding principles, embodying a growth mindset and inclusive leadership
ABOUT YOU
This role follows a hybrid model, requiring in-office presence at least 1 day per week.
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of progressive experience in talent topics (HR, professional development, performance appraisal, program management), and relevant experience in the subject matter or GC/ECD/FP team member with a rating of “Achieved High Expectations” or higher in most recent professional development review
- Proven self-starter with demonstrated problem solving and organizational skills
- Credible mid-level client (internal or external) advisor and partner
- Business, technical and analytic acumen
- Ability to work in an evolving environment, defining a vision and teaming with others to bring that vision to life; flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and program needs
- Demonstrated strong leadership, stakeholder engagement/management, teaming, networking and collaboration skills, ideally across functions, levels and geographies
- Successful experience fostering inclusive team environment
- Strong communication and influencing skills, English language fluency (both written and oral); interest and demonstrated ability in presenting and facilitation
