WHAT YOU'LL DO 

You will, in this role, acting as a trusted cybersecurity advisor to IT product teams and a specific subsidiary within Bain. This position requires executing cybersecurity strategies and serving as a liaison with various stakeholder groups. Responsibilities include recommending a roadmap of initiatives, tasks, and policies to achieve specific security objectives, in collaboration with cybersecurity and Technology Solutions Group (TSG) leadership. The role also entails communicating with stakeholders as needed, providing expert cybersecurity guidance to the relevant tech areas, and facilitating the integration of knowledge and capabilities from Bain's core resources into the designated scope of responsibility. While primarily a single contributor role, in more complex situations, there may be direct reports to assist in promoting a robust cybersecurity program. Additionally, this role may involve providing guidance on technical direction or overseeing a team of technical or security professionals. Interaction with leadership is essential for effective execution.

 

Skills/Expertise (60%)

  • You will deliver expertise in all facets of cybersecurity best practices and provide critical guidance to tech staff on best practice cybersecurity
  • You will act as a cyber expert to business leadership
  • You will provide solutions and mitigation options for reducing cyber risk
  • You will enumerate threats and risks as they pertain to relevant areas

 

Planning, Guidance and Program Management (20%)

  • You will work alongside TSG leadership to advise on key program objectives and policies that are with business needs and with overall Bain policies
  • You will communicate value of new initiatives and work with tech leaders to align funding and build project timelines
  • You will engage with business leadership to understand business objectives and align

Communication and Engagement (10%)

  • You will liaise with local stakeholders to fully understand business objectives
  • You will align cyber program objectives with Bain's cybersecurity function, working closely with staff and leadership in Bain's core.
  • You will guide presentations and topics on key areas of cyber risk and cybersecurity measures

Leadership & Team Management (10%)

  • You will act as a leader within the business area or unit and provide direction and with cross functional teams
  • In some cases, you may manage a team of cyber experts dedicated to the business unit or area

 

 

ABOUT YOU

Associate/Bachelor degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, as well as 8 to 10 years of experience is needed. Experience working with technology initiatives and projects and communicating updates to stakeholders, good problem-solving abilities around technical delivery and some experience working within an Agile team is required. 

 

• Leader experience in a large enterprise/professional services company and experience in managing a team of cybersecurity and/or tech professionals as well as analyzing and assessing risks to business leaders is also required. Also: 

 

  • Advanced Security/IT Concepts: In-depth expertise in areas like data retention, data classification, access control, third-party risk, and incident response.
  • Good foundation in analyzing and assessing cyber risks.
  • Ability to create and present a business case to senior stakeholders, facilitate discussion, and drive to a consensus
  • Strong communication skills, can explain and present complex security topics to leadership team and non-technical teams
  • Vendor skills including evaluating new vendors and making strategic recommendations & effective management of existing ones, holding them accountable for deliverables and escalating the right things to meet internal needs
  • Ability to define, measure, and track attainment of business objectives 
  • Proven management skills, ability to integrate/leverage team members' expertise and experience; provides coaching and development
  • Strong strategic thinker
  • Ability to negotiate difficult situations while maintaining strong relationships
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Willingness to adapt to changing priorities, explore new ideas, and think creatively to solve content-related challenges and drive innovation.
