WHERE YOU WILL WORK
You will, in this Global Analyst Relations Senior Manager role, work closely with the business to enhance Bain & Company’s reputation and strategic position in the marketplace by building strong relationships with an influential network of analysts (Gartner, Forrester, IDC, etc). The role is focused on increasing market visibility, credibility and differentiation for Bain’s brand, services and capabilities, innovation, solution portfolio and executive team.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will need to be able to leverage the depth and breadth of Bain holistically, including ecosystem relationships, is also key to this role and strategically important to the business. The Global Analyst Relations Senior Manager aims to achieve positive commentary and leading analyst rankings to enable Bain to drive increased sales conversion and gain market share from the competition. This requires skills to build positive relationships and influence with analysts. Also, this leader will drive revenue generation for Bain through analyst client referrals, and by increasing the win rate of client pitches through leadership reports and rankings. Importantly, the market and many clients use the information from these analysts to benchmark the broad consulting, technology, and industry sector capabilities of Bain against our competitors.
You will, with the above remit, need to be able to navigate, work with and influence senior Bain stakeholders, requires the buy-in and coordination with practice leaders to secure client references and have a deep knowledge of Bain service capabilities. The Senior Manager is also responsible for bringing Bain’s key messages to influential analysts, including challenging them on occasion. It also involves convening analysts at Bain-hosted events, and gaining intelligence from the analyst community to inform the business on what clients across the market are focused on, including: market share, where to invest, the competitive landscape, and providing supporting evidence to substantiate Bain’s strategic investment decisions.
You will need a clear understanding of Bain’s core capabilities and collaborate closely with practice marketing colleagues, PR and the brand team to deliver impactful analyst programs that contribute to Bain’s leadership position, given the rapidly changing and competitive market and the need to build our brand across multiple capabilities, including technology, generative AI, analytics, sustainability and customer, as well as across our broad industry expertise.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Analyst Relations Program Planning
You will develop and execute a strategic Analyst engagement program globally across priority capabilities and sectors.
Analyst briefings
You will respond to requests and proactively seeking briefing opportunities, guiding briefing presentation development (including coaching), providing content and reviewing survey submissions, securing and prepping client references, leading preparation sessions with spokespeople, hosting briefings and leading follow-up activities.
Analyst Webcasts
You will execute on agreed schedule/topics, liaise with practice marketing and business leaders, ensure analysts are notified in advance to ensure attendance, develop content, host session.
Analyst Inquiries
You will access analyst insights throughout the year and providing feedback to the business (for example, the annual Analyst perception survey).
Analyst/Market Insights
You will report back to practice leadership on current consulting/capability trends through email updates based on Analyst report findings.
Practice Leader Mapping
You will map of analysts to practice leaders, agree on targets, set up pro-active face to face meetings to develop trusted relationships with analysts.
Analyst Events
You will arrange and co-ordinate with industry analyst to attend Bain-hosted events (where appropriate). Explore all Analyst summits and roundtables, including sponsorship of events, resulting in positive coverage and awareness for Bain, and greater understanding by analyst community of Bains leadership in the market.
Public Relations/Social Media
You will collaborate with PR to promote positive reports in press releases and via social media, obtaining analyst quotes in news announcements, analyst pre-briefs ahead of announcements to put forward positive analysts to the press.
Analyst Portal
You will design proactive communications channel for Analysts wanting direct access to Bain content, with regular push notifications to analyst community.
Marketing/Measurement
You will collaborate with practice marketing, partnership marketing and Business Development to leverage Analyst results. Track Bain (and competitors) in ranking reports in support of client bids. Measure Bains performance across leadership rankings, and perception of Bain through annual analyst survey
Teaming
You will have regular calls with practice marketing, business stakeholders, Centers of Excellence, to align and ensure close co-ordination around analyst outreach.
You will download and share planned research calendars for priority analyst firms.
ABOUT YOU
Typically, a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training along with 8 years of experience in Analyst Relations in the technology, professional services or consulting industry with excellent communication, writing, editing, and project management skills is required.
Experience developing strategic plans with input and buy-in from internal stakeholders to set an annual direction for Analyst Relations.
A thorough understanding of the leading analyst firms, especially across technology, as well as some of the smaller boutiques, how they and their methodologies differ, what the calendar of activity is, and have the ability to develop close working professional relationships is needed.
Good relationships with top analysts at leading analyst firms e.g. Gartner, IDC, Forrester as this role requires a high level of autonomy and proactiveness to initiate activity and influence relevant analysts.
Ability/Confidence to influence and respectfully challenge analysts about any negative ranking in an analyst report or an analyst that does not perceive Bain as a strong player in a given capability/market/sector – at times this can mean escalating Bain’s dissatisfaction to the analyst firm and challenging the results, including providing a rebuttal for the sales team.
This Analyst Relations Leader will need to be able to work with the PR team to align team resources and prioritize efforts to get the maximum positive return.
U.S. Compensation Information
In Illinois, the good-faith, reasonable annualized full-time salary range for this role is between $119,000 - $143,000 placement within this range will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to experience, education, licensure/certifications, training and skill level
In Washington, DC the good-faith, reasonable annualized full-time salary range for this role is between $124,000 - $149,500 placement within this range will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to experience, education, licensure/certifications, training and skill level
For all other locations, the good-faith, reasonable annualized full-time salary range for this role is commensurate with competitive geographic market rates for this role and will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to experience, education, licensure/certifications, training and skill level
Annual discretionary performance bonus
This role may also be eligible for other elements of discretionary compensation
