WHERE YOU WILL WORK
The Legal group at Bain is a team of experienced lawyers across the globe who work closely together to support the firm. Bain is a deeply client-focused organization, and our team is equally focused on maintaining the highest possible client-service standards with our own internal clients. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Management and Cybersecurity lawyer to join our dynamic team. This role will form part of the Technology team within the Legal group and can be based in our offices located in Boston or London.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- You will provide day-to-day counseling on a broad range of data management and cybersecurity matters within Bain, including in relation to development and deployment of AI tools and other technology tools and products
- You will support Bain’s response to data breaches and cybersecurity incidents, including coordinating with internal and external stakeholders and managing regulatory notifications.
- You will assist in the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements relating to data management and cybersecurity
- You will develop and deliver training programs for employees on data management, date use and cybersecurity best practices
- You will monitor changes and updates in relevant laws and regulations, and advise Bain on necessary changes to policies and practices.
ABOUT YOU
A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school (or equivalent), admission to the bar in at least one US state, or a practising solicitor in England and Wales.
- 4-6 years’ relevant experience in a law firm or in-house setting, with a focus on Data Management and/or Cybersecurity is needed.
- Familiarity with Data Management and Cybersecurity laws and regulations
- Strong legal drafting and negotiation skills required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, highly organized, articulate, detail oriented and hard working
- Ability to work independently, but within a team-focused environment
- Business fluency in English is required.
Experience in servicing global clients as well as familiarity with data management governance frameworks is preferred.
