Extraordinary teams are at the heart of our business strategy, but these don’t happen by chance. They require intentional focus on bringing together a broad set of backgrounds, cultures, experiences, perspectives, and skills in a supportive and inclusive work environment. We hire people with exceptional talent and create an environment in which every individual can thrive professionally and personally.

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH
Future Back Ventures (FBV) is Bain & Company’s venture fund focused on investing in early-stage, promising startups founded or led by Bain alumni. FBV invests alongside leading venture firms and helps portfolio companies access the best of Bain through strategic advisory support, talent, community, introductions, and practical operating resources. As a small, entrepreneurial team inside Bain, FBV combines rigorous investment judgment with hands-on support for founders building the companies of the future.

WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM
This is an exciting opportunity to help build and scale the platform capabilities of a growing venture fund within Bain. The person in this role will play a central role in helping FBV deliver differentiated support to portfolio companies while also strengthening the operating infrastructure of the fund.

This role is designed for an individual who enjoys moving fluidly between strategy and execution. The associate will work across portfolio support, founder programming, communications, reporting, and fund operations, helping translate FBV’s unique access to Bain’s capabilities into practical value for portfolio companies and other stakeholders.

The role will work closely with FBV leadership, Bain internal functions, portfolio company leaders, and selected external partners. Success will require initiative, strong judgment, clear communication, and the ability to keep multiple workstreams moving in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.

Fund operations, portfolio tracking, and reporting (30%)

  • Maintain and own high-quality portfolio and fund data, including company milestones, operating metrics, engagement activity, and materials used for internal planning or Investment Committee updates.
  • Help build and improve repeatable operating processes, templates, and knowledge-management tools that increase the effectiveness of the FBV team.
  • Support recurring reporting and coordination needs across portfolio reviews, investor communications, finance-related workflows, and other operational priorities in partnership with internal stakeholders.

Communications and special projects (25%)

  • Draft and coordinate portfolio and fund communications, including newsletters, founder updates, website content, and social-media support.
  • Help elevate the visibility of portfolio company milestones and the FBV brand through thoughtful storytelling and well-executed communications.
