Position Summary

This role is involved with the continuous improvement of Bain’s core talent system, Workday. This role works closely with talent and IT to implement new features and ensure technology is aligned to firm and function strategy. Responsibilities for this role include collaborating with the core team, vendor and stakeholders to define business requirements, develop project plans, and manage project related communications.  This role is also responsible for executing the configuration and role out of system programs and updates, primarily focused in the core HR domain. 

Essential Functions

The Senior Analyst, TSG Product Management owns a smaller product or plays a critical role within a larger product. This role translates customer needs into an actionable backlog and then partners with the technical team to ensure successful implementation.

System enhancements and stakeholder engagement 

  • Understand key business objectives and strategy of the product from leadership
  • Elicit requirements for enhancement requests/new functionality, working with users to find elegant solutions to meet their needs while balancing technical realities
  • Conduct data conversion and end-to-end system testing
  • Identify, track, and analyze key metrics, distilling to critical insights and actionable findings
  • Drive appropriate pilots, customer communication, and training as needed

Product Delivery 

  • Actively participates in appropriate Agile ceremonies for the Workday HCM product
  • Transform requirements into appropriate user stories at the right level of detail for the team with supporting materials like process flow diagrams as needed
  • Configure reports and business processes using logic and rules to achieve the desired output 
  • Configures and supports steady-state system processes and programs, liaising with talent teams and owning successful outcomes
  • Manage system upgrades, including developing and executing test plans, identifying system dependencies, and highlighting risks
  • Works with technical teams and vendors to continuously optimize for Bain experience, taking new features and use cases into account
  • Acts as a resource for the team, answering questions, testing the latest work, and providing input into work in progress

Domain Knowledge

  • Provide professional and high-quality system support for existing and new system configurations within your domain
  • Maintain documentation of applications, policies, procedures, and reporting to enable key stakeholders and system users
  • Perform system ‘health checks’, including data audits and system performance testing
  • Develops, maintains, and demonstrates domain knowledge including both internal (Bain) and external (market) trends 


Qualifications

Required

  • 6+ years of progressive Workday experience
  • Expertise in technical Workday configuration and reporting
  • Expertise in technical Workday business process and conditional/rule-based configurations
  • Strong experience in Workday security configurations
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Excel

Preferred

  • Demonstrated experience supporting system configurations for a medium/large multinational organization.
  • Experience with agile development
  • Experience using Jira 
  • Experience using MS Outlook and PowerPoint


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proven strong logic, analytical and technological skills
  • Implementation and data conversion experience needed
  • Ability to translate business needs to technology
  • Demonstrated team leadership skills along with the ability to independently manage tasks and projects
  • Demonstrated understanding of Talent Management and IT concepts
  • Strong communication skills with a customer service orientation and an ability to influence others
  • Demonstrated experience in creating configuration documentation and related artifacts
  • High performance and standards as demonstrated by academic or previous job experience
