WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM
You’ll join Bain & Company’s Global Tax team within the Finance function, supporting Bain & Company, Inc. and its subsidiaries. In this role, you’ll assist in minimizing global tax costs by preparing tax returns, researching tax issues, and identifying tax planning opportunities. This position offers valuable experience in corporate taxation along with exposure to partnership and private equity investment taxation.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Tax Compliance & Reporting
Assist in the minimization of global tax costs of Bain & Company, Inc. and its subsidiaries by preparing tax returns, researching tax issues, and identifying tax planning opportunities
Prepare and review U.S. Federal and State tax returns for Bain & Company, Inc. and its subsidiaries
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of all aspects of consolidated Federal and State income tax returns, including estimated tax payments
Ensure adequate documentation of tax return positions for defense on audit
Support the Senior Tax Manager and international team in responding to Federal and State tax audit queries
Tax Research & Advisory
Research various federal, state, and local tax issues
Identify, research, and prepare technical memoranda to address U.S. tax issues
Recommend action plans and conclusions with a business perspective
Other Projects & Responsibilities
Serve as a technical resource for U.S. controllers regarding sales and use tax filings and audits, annual information reporting, and local tax returns
Serve as a technical resource for Payroll relating to U.S. Federal and state payroll tax reporting
Perform administrative and general work as required to achieve results accurately, efficiently, and effectively
Respond to ad hoc requests as assigned or as responsibilities dictate
ABOUT YOU
Required
Strong accounting and quantitative skills
Self-starter with the ability to balance multiple projects
Effective communication skills, with strong interpersonal and project management skills
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in OneSource, Microsoft Word and Excel, and online tax research tools
U.S. corporate and state tax compliance experience
Bachelor’s degree and CPA
3–5 years of public accounting experience
Preferred
3–5 years of public accounting experience at a Big 4 firm
U.S. COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, a 401(k) plan with an annual employer contribution based on years of service, and Bain’s best-in-class benefits package.
Some local governments in the United States require a good-faith, reasonable salary range to be included in job postings for open roles. The estimated annualized compensation for this role is as follows:
In Massachusetts, the good-faith, reasonable annualized full-time salary range for this role is between ($97,000 - $116,000)
Annual discretionary performance bonus
This role may also be eligible for other elements of discretionary compensation
4.5% 401(k) company contribution, which increases after 3 years of service and is 100% vested upon start date
