WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
Bain has formalized industry and capability “Practices,” which are integral to how Bain wins and delivers results to its clients. Together they form PPK (Product, Practice, and Knowledge). The role of a Practice is to drive growth for Bain in a particular industry or capability together with offices and boost Bain’s expertise and commercial excellence.
The Americas Private Equity Practice is a scale and high-growth part of Bain’s business. We support investor clients to drive their own businesses, make the right investment decisions, and create value in their portfolio businesses (by interlocking with all of Bain).
You will focus on Healthcare Private Equity clients, collaborating closely with the Global PEG Practice Director, Regional Practice Leaders, and the Healthcare Private Equity Sector Leads. Your work will help define strategic initiatives for Healthcare-focused investors and portfolio companies, ensuring collaboration across the Practice Operations, Talent teams, and client-facing partners.
WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM
- This position will be an integral to enabling the success of a Private Equity sector - directly involved with defining and executing against the key strategic initiatives for the sector, driving commercial impact, and providing support to Practice operations
- The position will work closely with the Global PEG Practice Director, as well as the Private Equity Sector Leads (client-facing Partners which lead the sector in the Americas)
- The position will involve multi-stakeholder collaboration across the Practice Operations and Talent, Regional Client Heads, and Private Equity Partners
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Overview:
- Key point-of-contact within the Healthcare Private Equity practice vertical supporting day-to-day operations
- Own and drive long term initiatives with our most senior VPs (e.g., strategic direction, account planning)
- Directly manage, coordinate, and prioritize efforts across short-term asset building activities
- Strategy:
- Primary point-of-contact to execute against vertical strategic initiatives and imperatives
- Coordinate with sector leads on strategic plan to increase execute against strategic plans (e.g., penetrating whitespace)
- Commercial (Selling):
- Mobilize against near-in commercial opportunities; provide link to capabilities and industries to enable integrated diligence and post-acquisition work
- Drive systematic review of priority client opportunities within the vertical
- Develop materials on key market trends; track announced deals, deal outcomes, and Bain involvement (pitch, selection, transaction status)
- Develop, maintain and prioritize list of potential publicly announced targets coming to market based on market analysis and fund commentary
- Support pitch materials for high-priority targets and bake-offs; leading coordination with coverage Partner, identifying relevant redbooks and POVs
- Coordinate with AAG and PEGAR to recommend the highest priority tools and analytics for the sector (more broadly) and on individual deals
- Coordination and Comms:
- Help to ensure coordination across practice, regions, and capability interlocks
- Support and drive content for sector, practice and annual planning meetings, including pipeline conversion, revenue, IP/POVs
- Develop and maintain list of Bain and external experts on key sub-segments, particularly for upcoming deals or prioritized targets
ABOUT YOU
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree and 6–9 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in consulting or healthcare-related roles OR Master’s Degree and 5–6 years of equivalent experience
- Strong familiarity with the U.S. healthcare system—including payer, provider, pharma, and/or healthcare IT (HCIT); understanding of how these systems operate and interconnect is essential
- Experience working in a professional services environment (e.g., consulting firm, financial services, law firm, audit) with a demonstrated ability to operate within a client-service-driven model
- Core skills:
- Ability to multi-task and re-prioritize in a dynamic, fast-paced setting
- Analytical and strategic thinking to lead initiatives and generate impact
- Superior communication skills and business acumen to work with senior stakeholders
- Collaborative and proactive “roll-up-your-sleeves” attitude
- Creative problem-solving, data-driven thinking, and execution ownership
- Professional maturity and cultural fit with Bain’s values and ways of working
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and driving results with limited structure
Preferred
- Familiarity or passion for the Private Equity
- Demonstrated excitement for internal-facing roles, with an emphasis on ownership, execution, and collaboration
- Experience working with U.S.-based clients or stakeholders is a plus
