WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You’ll join the Product, Practice and Knowledge (PPK) group. Over the past two decades, Bain has formalized industry and capability areas, internally known as “Practices”, integral to how Bain wins and delivers results to its clients. A practice is considered a business unit of Bain. The primary role of a Practice Consultant is to internally support client-facing teams to deliver results for clients, boost’s Bain’s expertise in an industry or capability, and to drive growth for Bain.
Within that, you will be a member of the Strategy & Transformation (S&T) Practice. This is a global, transversal capability that helps Bain’s clients achieve their full potential by developing breakthrough strategies and ensuring they deliver the results. We equip Bain partners to be the CEO’s trusted advisor and thought partner on the issues that matter most.
Specifically, this Practice Consultant role is focused on Bain’s Full Potential Transformation and Results Delivery Office (RDO) solutions. Full Potential Transformations are bold, high-impact, company-wide programs that help clients achieve step-change improvements in the strategic, operational, and financial direction of their business. Results Delivery Offices are central teams that orchestrate the delivery of complex change programs to ensure they deliver results.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Solution Full Potential
- Solution full potential strategy and ecosystem plan
- Own the creation of a competitive factbase to support the solution full potential plan and backlog; conduct solution gap identification and differentiation analysis; research & assess ecosystem offerings and potential partners/vendors/acquisitions
- Solution P&L, budget, and investment process
- Run analysis and support business case development for solution investments
Solution Design, Development, Deployment, and Delivery
- Customer-centric persistent solution innovation
- Develop pieces* of the solution (including points of view, guides, and AI-enabled tools), working collaboratively with and apprenticing team members; maintain direct touchpoints with case teams to inform solution development
- Apprenticing Knowledge Management (KM) team for knowledge codification
- Collaborate with KM team to bring best of Bain casework into the solution offering
- Central orchestrator across Bain ecosystem
- Work collaboratively with ecosystem partners; assist case teams in deploying AI and new ways of working to full potential
- Client and case-team advisory and support
- Respond to case team requests across all levels (straightforward to complex) sharing best of solution content and tailoring responses to needs of the client situation; provide onboarding and bootcamps to case teams; provide content guidance for IRIS pages
- Solution training
- Develop elements of solution training materials for affiliates and other internal training programs
- Solution marketing
- Assist in content creation for internal marketing opportunities; supports marketing liaison on specific tasks
Commercialization
- Go-to-market strategy including win/loss learning & feedback
- Proactively coordinate debriefs with pitch teams; collect and analyze win/loss data and competitor insights for competitive factbase
- Sales plays, 80% proposal + supporting collateral, incl. microsites
- Develop specific elements of standardized proposal templates, sales plays, and other commercial collateral; customize microsites
- Build diagnostic tools
- Direct proposal/pitch support
- Selectively provide light-touch proposal support on areas of expertise spikes
- Expert deployment
- Support data collection, maintenance, and analysis on experts and expert deployment
ABOUT YOU
- 5-8 years of professional services and/or Strategy & Transformation consulting experience OR 4-5 years of professional experience plus MBA/Master’s
- Experience / expertise or strong interest in Strategy & Transformation
- Experience working on initiatives within a large transformation program
- Experience supporting delivery of a large transformation program
- Experience in change management
- Experience in project / program management
- Familiarity with AI-enabled tools
- Analytical and problem solving skills and expertise to push insights to conclusive recommendations
- Ability to effectively drive a piece of work end-to-end with limited direction
- Can perform complex, accurate analysis
- Continuously learns from one experience to another and makes thoughtful recommendations on improvements
