Description & Requirements
WHAT MAKES US A GREAT PLACE TO WORK
We are proud to be consistently recognized as one of the world’s best places to work. We are currently the #1 ranked consulting firm on Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work list and have maintained a spot in the top four on Glassdoor’s list since its founding in 2009.
Extraordinary teams are at the heart of our business strategy, but these don’t happen by chance. They require intentional focus on bringing together a broad set of backgrounds, cultures, experiences, perspectives, and skills in a supportive and inclusive work environment. We hire people with exceptional talent and create an environment in which every individual can thrive professionally and personally.
WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
Over the past two decades, Bain has formalized industry and capability areas, internally known as “Practices”, integral to how Bain wins and delivers results to its clients. A practice is considered a business unit of Bain. The primary role of a Practice is to drive growth for Bain in a particular industry or capability, together with offices, and boosting Bain’s expertise and commercial excellence.
This role sits in the Practice Sector/Product/Topic series within the Product Management (Practice Roles) job family and the IP and Solutions talent community.
WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM
The Practice Consultant will be part of Bain’s Global Energy & Materials Center (GEM-C). The Sustainability and Energy & Natural Resources (ENR) practices agreed to jointly form the GEM-C, formally housed within ENR, to enhance expertise and boost our competitiveness in energy and materials markets.
GEM-C is an innovative, modern, fit-for-purpose team that enables frontline velocity and commercial acceleration, unifying the full range of support functions historically operating in a fragmented manner against a list of priority topics identified by the frontline sales force.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Practice Consultant supports the GEM-C in achieving its ambition, working directly with the Head of the GEM-C (Peter Meijer) and other stakeholders. Primary focus for the Practice Consultant is to deliver high-priority projects and to support the overall adoption of digital / technology solutions across the GEM-C. The role provides a great opportunity for someone to develop and leverage deep project management expertise and make a direct impact to our overall commercial success.
The primary job responsibilities include:
- Build and manage the digital pipeline for the GEM-C. Work closely with stakeholders to identify high-value opportunities to introduce digital solutions. Align with digital experts in the GEM-C to translate opportunity in scoping, and help set up the delivery roadmap for key priorities
- Collaborate with other functions at Bain (e.g., Marketing, Data Research). Focus on driving high-priority initiatives to bring functional performance (including the GEM-C) to full potential
- Contribute to firm priorities and lead adoption across the GEM-C. Provide targeted support to GEM-C and ENR leadership support who are involved in broader firm priorities, and identify and support opportunities to implement changes within our team
- Support the GEM-C Quarterly Business Review (QBR) meetings. Define process standards, identify options to automate the management system / reporting, and manage meeting preparation
