Position Summary
The Manager, Global Tax will be a member of the Global Tax team of a preeminent global strategic management consulting firm and will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the Global Tax Transfer Pricing team in India. This includes formulation of pricing strategies for global intercompany arrangements between Bain group entities, documentation of intercompany transactions and take on an active role in preparing audit defense strategy and BEPS compliance activities. This also includes devising tax strategies, framing benefits documentation and team management. A highly organized, self-starter with excellent communication, collaboration and team management skills will be suitable for this role.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Responsible for managing all aspects of the global annual transfer pricing calculation including analysis of costs, invoicing and documentation of all procedural steps;
- Lead role in managing all aspects of the tax and transfer pricing (including BEPS) compliance process to ensure accurate and timely fulfilment of processes and deadlines while consistently reflecting optimal transfer pricing positions in accordance with OECD and local transfer pricing guidelines;
- Anticipates potential tax filing conflicts and resolves before transfer pricing returns are filed;
- Responsible for leading all aspects of OECD country by country reporting;
- Support in transfer pricing aspects of various new business ventures to ensure timely and accurate tax reporting;
- Lead discussions with advisors for responses to audit information requests from tax authorities, prepare audit defense and appeal sets, evaluate risk mitigation and audit defense strategies and other transfer pricing support as needed on routine and advance issues;
- Team with Global Tax Directors to develop and maintain intercompany service agreements and other US based tax compliances;
- Team up with VP and EVP, Global Tax to devise and implement tax planning strategies which comply with statutory laws in each jurisdiction ;
- Function as a technical subject matter expert for all transfer pricing related matters.
- Lead efforts of staff to ensure timely, accurate and defensible transfer pricing return filings;
- Develop and maintain knowledge of transfer pricing laws and related developments of different jurisdictions including monitoring of industry positions relevant to Bain’s business operations;
- Review transfer pricing planning strategies from a global perspective in various jurisdictions and maintaining a holistic approach keeping in mind corporate tax requirements as a whole.
Qualifications
The position requires an enthusiastic team player who is self-motivated and has the ability to work both independently and as part of a team:
- Qualified CA/CPA or other relevant Post Graduate qualification;
- At least 8 years of Transfer Pricing experience in a global accounting firm or comparable industry experience with proven knowledge of transfer methodologies;
- Deep understanding of OECD guidelines, BEPS compliance requirements, and local tax regulations;
- Demonstrated Transfer Pricing audit and litigation experience;
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; ability to interpret and work with large data sets;
- Advanced MS Excel Skill. Practical knowledge of SAP preferred;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral;
- Excellent organizational and quantitative skills, ability to manage multiple tasks independently with an aptitude for problem solving ;
- Ability to handle highly confidential information in a professional manner;
- Willingness to work in flexible work schedules based on Global Time-Zone requirements;
- At least 4 years of experience in team management.
