WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

You’ll join our Technology Services Group (TSG), partnering closely with HR, talent stakeholders, and cross-functional technology teams across Bain. You’ll work in a collaborative, global environment focused on delivering scalable, high-impact technology solutions that support our people strategy and business objectives.


WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM

As a Manager in TSG Product Management focused on Workday Core HR, you will act as the bridge between HR and technology. You’ll own the product lifecycle—from roadmap definition through delivery and continuous improvement—ensuring our Core HR systems drive maximum value for the firm.


WHAT YOU’LL DO

You will bring together technology and deep partnership with HR to deliver optimal return on our Core HR systems investment. Your work will focus on product strategy, system configuration, and ongoing optimization.


Product Planning & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Develop and manage the product roadmap and backlog
  • Define and prioritize product features, balancing business and technical needs
  • Translate user insights into clear product requirements
  • Lead system project teams, advising on design and configuration
  • Document system specifications and workflows
  • Develop and execute testing strategies
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure effective adoption of new solutions


Configuration & Delivery

  • Lead configuration efforts across internal and external teams
  • Test and refine new features using user feedback
  • Identify technical risks and dependencies
  • Guide development teams on trade-offs and implementation decisions
  • Execute system configuration and support integrations
  • Design reporting solutions using logic-based rules
  • Develop documentation and deliver training to end users


Service & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead change management and communication strategies
  • Gather feedback through interviews, surveys, and workshops
  • Recommend enhancements aligned with evolving business needs
  • Manage system upgrades and performance monitoring
  • Conduct system health checks and data audits
  • Maintain documentation, policies, and procedures


ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in product management or HR systems
  • 3+ years of hands-on Workday Core HCM configuration experience
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts
  • Experience prioritizing work based on business value
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Experience managing vendors and driving accountability
  • Agile Product Owner certification preferred


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • This role follows a hybrid model, requiring in-office presence at least one day per week
  • Travel may be required based on business needs


U.S. Compensation Information

Compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, 401(k) plan with an annual employer contribution based on years of service and Bain’s best-in-class benefits package.

Some local governments in the United States require a good-faith, reasonable salary range to be included in job postings for open roles. 


The estimated annualized compensation for this role is as follows:

  • In Boston, MA, the good-faith, reasonable annualized full-time salary range for this role is between $147,250 - $176,750
  • In Chicago, IL, the good-faith, reasonable annualized full-time salary range for this role is between $141,000 - $169,250


Placement within these ranges will vary based on factors including experience, education, certifications, and skill level.
