WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
This is a full-time, temporary hybrid position on Bain’s Private Equity Innovation team. As a PEGAR Manager, you’ll lead evaluations of third-party data sources and collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Research & Data Services (RDS), Engineering, and PEG leadership—to introduce and implement innovative alternative data solutions across Bain. Your work will accelerate the adoption of new data capabilities that enhance how we deliver value to our clients.
WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM
In this role, you will lead the regional evaluation and implementation of alternative data for Bain’s internal data products, ensuring effective rollout and training across our Centers of Excellence. You’ll act as the go-to subject matter expert on data sources for private equity case teams, manage high-value vendor partnerships, and oversee data testing, training, and communications within your region. You may also mentor junior team members and contribute to global initiatives that advance Bain’s data capabilities.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Data Management & Product Enablement
- Lead deployment of PEGAR/PIT data sources across the region, including implementation plans, rollout, training, and communication
- Guide product testing in partnership with PEG Product Owners and PIT Engineering
- Design and manage the support model for RDS and other business functions
- Regularly communicate product capabilities, enhancements, and methodology updates
- Lead vendor engagement and manage for data compliance
- Asset Management & Collaboration
- Maintain PEGAR/PIT data catalogs and documentation libraries
- Spearhead collaboration across regions and functions, including global team meetings
- Identify and drive global alignment opportunities with other PEGAR Managers
- Case Team Advisory & Support
- Serve as an expert advisor on PEGAR/PIT data sources
- Provide proactive solutions and support to case teams and PEG leadership
- Oversee helpdesk inquiries and manage compliance-related data use
- Vendor Management
- Lead vendor evaluations and contract negotiations
- Manage vendor relationships and all associated communications
- Address data use, compliance, and methodology issues
- Marketing & Communication
- Own the PEGAR/PIT regional newsletter
- Recommend and implement marketing programs to promote new tools and solutions
- Administration & Team Development
- Oversee contract compliance reporting and manage internal task tracking
- May supervise and support the development of junior team members
ABOUT YOU
Required:
- A background in Information Management & Research, Business, or a related field is preferred. A master’s degree or MBA is a plus but not required.
- 5+ years of experience in research services, preferably in consulting, financial services, or other professional services environments
- US Market Data expertise required
- Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills
- Experience influencing in a matrixed environment and building stakeholder relationships
- Demonstrated presentation and training experience
- Familiarity with data tools and information products used across industry/capability areas
Nice to Have:
- Deep knowledge of Bain’s industry or capability-specific data sources
- Experience managing or mentoring junior team members
- Familiarity with contract and compliance reporting processes
