WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH


This is a full-time hybrid position. You’ll join our Private Equity Group Advanced Research (PEGAR) team, part of Bain’s broader Private Equity and Innovation platform. This group is embedded within Bain’s digital capabilities and works closely with global case teams and data partners to deliver high-impact data solutions. As a PEGAR Manager, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders—including Research & Data Services (RDS), Engineering, and PEG leadership—to accelerate innovation and ensure consistent access to best-in-class data tools across the firm.

 

WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM


In this role, you’ll lead the regional deployment and enablement of PEGAR and PEG Innovation Team (PIT) data products. You’ll serve as a subject-matter expert for case teams, own complex vendor relationships, and drive product testing, training, and communications within your region. You may also manage junior team members and play an active role in Bain’s global data collaboration efforts.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO     


Key areas of responsibility include: 

- Data Management & Product Enablement

  1. Lead deployment of PEGAR/PIT data sources across the region, including implementation plans, rollout, training, and communication
  2. Guide product testing in partnership with PEG Product Owners and PIT Engineering
  3. Design and manage the support model for RDS and other business functions
  4. Regularly communicate product capabilities, enhancements, and methodology updates
  5. Lead vendor engagement and manage for data compliance 

- Asset Management & Collaboration

  1. Maintain PEGAR/PIT data catalogs and documentation libraries
  2. Spearhead collaboration across regions and functions, including global team meetings
  3. Identify and drive global alignment opportunities with other PEGAR Managers 

- Case Team Advisory & Support

  1. Serve as an expert advisor on PEGAR/PIT data sources
  2. Provide proactive solutions and support to case teams and PEG leadership
  3. Oversee helpdesk inquiries and manage compliance-related data use 

- Vendor Management

  1. Lead vendor evaluations and contract negotiations
  2. Manage vendor relationships and all associated communications
  3. Address data use, compliance, and methodology issues 

- Marketing & Communication

  1. Own the PEGAR/PIT regional newsletter
  2. Recommend and implement marketing programs to promote new tools and solutions 

- Administration & Team Development

  1. Oversee contract compliance reporting and manage internal task tracking
  2. May supervise and support the development of junior team members

 

ABOUT YOU

 

Required: 

- A background in Information Science, Business, or a related field is preferred. A master’s degree or MBA is a plus but not required.
- 5+ years of experience in research services, preferably in consulting, financial services, or other professional services environments

- US Market Data expertise required

Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills
- Experience influencing in a matrixed environment and building stakeholder relationships
- Demonstrated presentation and training experience
- Familiarity with data tools and information products used across industry/capability areas


Nice to Have:

- Deep knowledge of Bain’s industry or capability-specific data sources
- Experience managing or mentoring junior team members
- Familiarity with contract and compliance reporting processes


U.S. Compensation Information


Compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, 401(k) plan with an annual employer contribution based on years of service and Bain’s best in class benefits package (details listed below).


Some local governments in the United States require a good-faith, reasonable salary range to be included in job postings for open roles. The estimated annualized compensation for this role is as follows:

 

  • In Chicago, Illinois, the good-faith, reasonable annualized full-time salary range for this role is between $119,000 - $143,000 placement within this range will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to experience, education, licensure/certifications, training and skill level

  • In Dallas, Texas, the good-faith, reasonable annualized full-time salary range for this role is between $113,500 - $136,500 placement within this range will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to experience, education, licensure/certifications, training and skill level

 

  • Annual discretionary performance bonus 

 

  • This role may also be eligible for other elements of discretionary compensation

 

  • 4.5% 401(k) company contribution, which increases after 3 years of service and is 100% vested upon start date

For all other locations, the good-faith, reasonable annualized full-time salary range for this role is commensurate with competitive geographic market rates for this role and will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to experience, education, licensure/certifications, training and skill level
