Description & Requirements

WHAT MAKES US A GREAT PLACE TO WORK

We are proud to be consistently recognized as one of the world’s best places to work. We are currently the #1 ranked consulting firm on Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work list and have maintained a spot in the top four on Glassdoor’s list since its founding in 2009.

Extraordinary teams are at the heart of our business strategy, but these don’t happen by chance. They require intentional focus on bringing together a broad set of backgrounds, cultures, experiences, perspectives, and skills in a supportive and inclusive work environment. We hire people with exceptional talent and create an environment in which every individual can thrive professionally and personally.

WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

You’ll join Bain’s Global Retail Practice team, one of Bain’s flagship industry groups recognized for its passion, energy, and innovation. Our practice spans grocery, apparel and footwear (including luxury fashion), specialty retail, restaurants and food service, and travel and leisure. We work with leading players and disruptors alike, including those reshaping the future of retail through digital transformation and new business models.

As part of the Retail Practice, you’ll also collaborate closely with Bain’s global Product, Practice, and Knowledge (PPK) teams, including Centers of Expertise, data scientists, developers, and external partners such as OpenAI.

WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM

You’ll be a Practice Consultant focusing on core retail products — from category leadership and customer-led merchandising to supplier negotiations and supply chain solutions. Your work will strengthen Bain’s IP and toolkit development, accelerate case delivery, and directly support client impact in one of our fastest-growing sectors.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Practice Consultant, you’ll:

  • Contribute to product development, competitive scans, and next-generation offerings (including AI-enabled solutions)

  • Build and maintain compelling IP, playbooks, and sales collateral to equip case teams with proven solutions

  • Support product commercialization through client meetings, proposals, and go-to-market initiatives

  • Provide thought leadership and rapid-response support to case teams in relevant retail topics

  • Help shape product reputation through publications, marketing strategies, and external network building

  • Manage ongoing product operations, including Bain.com updates, training roadmaps, budgets, and analyst teams

  • Inspire and coach colleagues, contributing to team development, engagement, and professional growth
