WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH:

The Asia Regional Tax Director will work with Regional & Country Controllers in the Region, including those in China, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, and New Zealand. This position supports the Executive Vice President, Global Tax with tax research and planning, income tax provision calculation for financial reporting, and responding to tax audit inquiries in the respective region.


WHAT WILL YOU DO:

  • Cross-border transactional tax matters: You will collaborate with Global Transfer Pricing group to address tax matters pertaining to transfer pricing and cross-border transactions and advise on Permanent Establishment Issues and collaborate and coordinate corporate and individual tax matters arising from PE matters. You will serve as a liaison with local country tax advisors and local finance team. Respond to ad hoc questions as needed and you will liaise with other Global Tax Team members on special projects and cross-regional matters.
  • Tax compliance and audit matters: You will review and understand each country’s tax return and tax issues; identify changes in tax law and related reporting and respond to ad hoc questions as needed.
  • Tax Provision Accounting: You will review each country’s tax provision in the region, including sign-off on return to provision and review of tax reconciliations (effective tax rate review).


ABOUT YOU:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA or Chartered Accountant, preferred MBA, Master’s degree in Taxation, JD or equivalent experience.
  • 8-10+ years of corporate tax experience with private and public companies, including experience collaborating with external advisers on complex tax matters on a global scale.
  • Thorough knowledge of Asia Regional taxation.
  • Big 4 experience preferred.
  • Must have a strong background in a diverse range of tax areas, which could include income tax, indirect tax, tax accounting, transfer pricing, controversy, permanent establishment, and income tax treaties.
  • Must have a willingness/desire to learn and understand the tax issues in all countries within the region, through coordination with both internal employees as well as external advisors.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills; organized and attentive to details.
  • Team player that thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with all levels of management.
  • Advanced computer skills including proficiency in Excel, Word, and online research software.
  • Highly detailed-oriented and proficient in English.
  • Ability to independently manage and execute multiple projects.
