WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

Consistent with Bain’s core values, the mission of the Global Safety and Security team is to enable our teams to work as safely as possible. The Director, Americas Regional Safety and Security Officer leads the development, training and testing of office response teams and acts as a subject matter expert and liaison with external security resources for Offices and Regional emergency response teams during active situations. In addition to the core responsibility the Director will also help the Global Safety and Security Team develop a broad scope of safety and security policies, programs, and resources. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

  • You will lead Americas Emergency Response Team (ERT)
    • You will advise Regional Managing Partner and key Regional Leaders on emergency response best practices.
    • You will train the ERT to be able to swiftly respond appropriately to emergency situations and conduct bi-annual table top exercise (TTX) trainings
    • You will proactively monitor and update key leaders on developing situations.
    • You will contract and manage external security resources during security situations.
  • You will manage Office Situation Response Teams (OSRT) in Americas region.
    • You will train OSRT’s in basic response methodology
    • You will audit Office Safety Plan submissions.
    • You will assess OSRT effectiveness and office compliance.
    • You will ensure all events, incidents are logged with after action reviews.
  • You will lead response to complex emergencies or crises; support offices if/as needed with response to active incidents.
    • You will provide guidance to local Office Response teams. 
    • You will manage the application of external resources. 
    • You will act as advisor to firm leadership and keep all appropriate leaders are kept in the loop.
    • You will ensure confidentiality during sensitive investigations and information is shared on a need-to-know basis. 
    • You will conduct after action reviews making recommendations as necessary.
  • You will mitigate security risks at off-site programs and events (e.g., Global Training, Regional LT Meetings, GLS)
    • You will conduct relevant security advance work for key large gatherings (e.g., GLS)
    • You will develop and implement robust safety and security plans for key large gatherings (e.g., Global Training, Regional LT Meetings, GLS)
    • You will engage and manage needed security mitigation resources. 
    • You will provide expert and advice and guidance on broad range of event plans.
      • You will develop event planning resources. 
      • You will review Event Plans to ensure compliance with Bain’s safety and security standards.
  • You will develop high impact training and communication materials; assist in maintaining Safe@Bain as a resource for employees and leaders.
  • You will deliver specific safety and security initiatives as assigned, including identity-based security and insider threat risk mitigation strategies.
  • You will work collaboratively as member of the Global Human Capital team.
  • You will partner with client security teams as necessary.
  • You will mentor and share knowledge with GSS team, especially junior members. 
  • You will assist in integrating AI based technologies to enhance Global Security policies, procedures and response methodology.

 

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of global security management or similar; multi-national experience required; professional services experience highly preferred. Demonstrated experience supporting expansion into new geographies. 
  • Security certifications such as CPP or CFE preferred, or able to show demonstrated leadership in high paced situations, calm, clear and levelheaded judgement is vital to this position. 
  • Ability to function as both a leader, individual contributor, and team member, a high degree of initiative will be valued. 
  • Sound business judgment, with ability to anticipate firm needs and identify and implement practical, realistic solutions. 
  • Highly responsive, service-oriented individual with ability to flex schedule to support customers in various locations and time zones. 
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills; ability to effectively advise at all levels of the organization and across inexperienced as well as seasoned travelers; ability to speak multiple languages (Spanish and or Portuguese) highly valued.
  • Ability to manage confidential and highly sensitive information with the highest levels of discretion and professionalism.
  • Ability to travel with short notice and possibly for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, often within tight timeframes.
  • High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  • Spanish or Portuguese as a second language would be preferred.
  • Medical/health industry and experience would be preferred.
