Position Summary:

Provide leadership and support for all consulting staff programs -- including staffing, performance management and integration -- for designated Associate Consultant (AC) and Consultant cohorts in the office (likely ~120 people).  Successful implementation of the various programs requires strong program management skills, thorough knowledge of policies and procedures, and effective communication. 

Responsibilities & Duties:

Associate Consultant / Consultant Staffing

·         Coordinate with case team leadership to understand staffing needs, including nature of assignment, staffing requirements, and oversee staffing of teams to projects based on understanding of client, office and individual needs.

·         Work with Staffing/HR leadership to ensure staffing decisions best optimize tradeoffs between client service, utilization and retention.

Associate Consultant/Consultant Program Management

·         Develop one-on-one relationships with AC/Consultants to provide guidance and mentoring on career management.   Regularly meet with each Consultant to discuss their career development, goals, objectives, and interests.  Makes tradeoffs between client needs, office utilization and individual needs.

·         Monitor case team assignments to ensure Consultants have a variety of consulting projects and diverse experiences.

·         Manage professional development of Consulting staff.  Review all case-end and semi-annual reviews to ensure quality feedback and clear messaging.  Facilitate ratings calibration process to ensure appropriate performance ratings for individuals in assigned cohort.

·         Partner with HR on performance management, employee relations and other issues related to employment law, risk and policy matters

·         Partner with “Cohort Champions to hold regular class meetings and trainings; invite relevant parties to ensure Consulting staff are provided relevant content as pertains to their careers

·         Coordinate with HR on transfer processes, leaves of absence, and externships for AC/Consultants

·         Recruit and interview for AC/Consultants as necessary 

·         Participate in the development and recommendation operating policy and procedural improvements for AC/Consulting staff.

·         Work with local HR team and HR SSC on processes impacting designated cohorts, including - upward feedback, performance ratings, reviews, and case team surveys

·         Own data integrity within staffing system (BOSS)



Capacity Planning and Analytics

·         Manage the process (with Staffing Specialist support) of maintaining availability of consulting staff, accounting for case activity, vacations and training conflicts, incoming and outgoing personnel, and tracking of upcoming case roll points

·         Actively translate forward looking capacity view into team availability by week for reporting to regional staffing team and Office Heads

·         Act as point person for in answering any questions about upcoming availability and impact of potential cases/backfills/departures

·         Conduct ad hoc analytics on long-term capacity trends (e.g. attrition rates)

·         Prepare periodic talent pyramid updates for office head review and office meetings

Strategic Projects

·         Proactively identify areas for process improvement and drive execution, applying deep functional knowledge of processes

·         Perform other duties and projects as assigned including leading strategic initiatives such as sustainability, employee value proposition, DE&I, etc.

Qualifications:

·         Bachelors Degree in Management, Liberal Arts, related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience is required.  MBA preferred.

·         A minimum of 6 years professional experience is required, 2 years progressive experience in management required, preferably in a consulting role

·         Deep knowledge of professional services, preferably consulting operations and the various roles

·         Strong customer service, meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills necessary

·         Strong analytical, problem solving and quantitative skills

·         Outstanding interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required

·         Ability to deal with highly confidential information appropriately; ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.

·         Comprehensive knowledge of, and experience with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint is required.
