WHERE YOU'LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM
Under general supervision, the Payroll Coordinator is responsible for accurate and timely calculation, processing and distribution of payrolls including execution of payroll changes, master file revisions, manual entries, pro-rated payments, tax computations and benefit deductions within a cloud based payroll system. The role provides comprehensive customer service to employees at all levels and ensures compliance with all internal policies and procedures.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Payroll Processing
- Ensure all payroll considerations are addressed including pay rates, deductions, taxes, time information, etc., and that payrolls are processed timely and accurately.
- Help to review HR data and deductions in the payroll processing system as well as time sheets to ensure the data is complete and accurate. Work with HR and employees proactively to ensure information is accurate.
- Process exceptions as required for compliance, work with Treasury on off-cycle payments and/or wires.
Compliance and Accuracy
- Ensure that transactions are processed in compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as local, state/provincial, and national regulations.
- Help to identify and test new system enhancements as needed.
Employee Service and Support
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay calculations, taxes, deductions, and benefits. Serve as a go-to service representative for many payroll-related matters within the organization.
- Connect with HR Systems teams and third-party support to troubleshoot issues as needed.
- Stakeholder Collaboration (10%)
- Develop collaborative working relationships with HR/Recruiting to allow for greater efficiencies and sharing of information.
Additional Activities
- Strengthen system controls to mitigate risks and maintain system integrity.
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- Basic knowledge of payroll practices and procedures
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and office software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong problem-solving skills and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
- Self-motivated and able to work well independently and as part of a team
- Basic understanding of payroll compliance and regulations
U.S. COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, 401(k) plan with an annual employer contribution based on years of service and Bain’s best in class benefits package (details listed below).
Some local governments in the United States require a good-faith, reasonable salary range be included in job postings for open roles. For all other locations, the good-faith, reasonable annualized full-time salary range for this role is commensurate with competitive geographic market rates for this role and will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to experience, education, licensure/certifications, training and skill level
In Massachusetts, the good-faith, reasonable annualized full-time salary range for this role is between $59,000 - $71,500 placement within this range will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to experience, education, licensure/certifications, training and skill level
Annual discretionary performance bonus
- This role may also be eligible for other elements of discretionary compensation
- 4.5% 401(k) company contribution, which increases after 3 years of service and is 100% vested upon start date
