WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM

As a member of the Global Workforce Planning and Staffing team, the Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for supporting software applications that advance the operations and reporting of Bain’s Global Staffing function, working alongside the Product Owner, and focusing on the Deployment workstream. Time will be primarily split between supporting the agile software development team and staffing system end users. The Business Systems Analyst will play a critical role in troubleshooting and solving user inquiries, developing product documentation, and driving enhancement requests.

Product Support & Documentation (60%) 

  • Become a trusted primary contact for staffing application support by answering questions and troubleshooting issues, attempting to find the root cause, and escalating when required via a shared support inbox.
  • Develop and maintain product documentation to ensure both end users and the Staffing system team have the most up-to-date information. 
  • Test routine updates and enhancements to ensure necessary functionality continues to work and are user friendly.
  • Plan and lead virtual training sessions with new and existing staffing stakeholders to deepen understanding of BOSS product offerings.
  • Assist in planning and executing routine audits to help drive product adoption, staffing policy compliance, and other ad hoc analysis as required. 

 

Manage enhancement requests (30%)

  • Support the Product Owner in eliciting requirements, working with users to understand requests and potential solutions.
  • Transform user requests into actionable work by developing product backlog items (user stories), process flow diagrams, and other supporting materials as the Product Owner directs.
  • Work collaboratively with the appropriate technical teams and third parties to complete these items, continuously communicating with key stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the agile development process by participating in all Scrum events.

 

Develop domain knowledge (10%)

  • Become an expert in and stay up to date on Bain’s staffing processes, systems, and data used by the staffing community, with the ability to independently support and answer internal customer questions.

 

Qualifications

  • Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree required with a focus in Business and/or computer-related field preferred or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as well as 2-4+ years of progressive experience (2+ years’ progressive), 1+ years’ experience in a requirements role (e.g. B.A.) and 1+ years’ working with technical teams required. 
  • Practical experience in gathering and interpreting user needs, and defining, documenting, and validating requirements.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Tableau, SQL, and WalkMe.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for understanding and addressing customer needs.
  • Quickly grasps new requirements, technologies, tools, and concepts, and the ability to problem-solve and take initiative on multi-faceted projects/responsibilities are all required.
