WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
This full-time position, based in BCN’s Mexico office, is part of the Bain Value Creation Center. At Bain Capability Network, this position will be part of the Corporate Finance Center of Excellence (CoE) supporting Bain’s Strategy practice. The Value Creation Center team partners with Bain's global case teams and client development teams to deliver cutting-edge insights and solutions around capital markets, valuation, and financial performance. The team supports a wide range of topics, including:
- Financial diagnostics and capital structure analysis
- Shareholder value creation strategies
- Corporate valuation and strategic financial advisory
- Development of Bain’s Capital Markets intellectual property and go-to-market materials
You will collaborate closely with Bain teams worldwide to influence C-suite decision-making, delivering data-driven insights that drive sustainable, long-term shareholder value. You will also partner closely with Corporate Finance CoEs India teams for holistic delivery.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
This role focuses on supporting Bain clients and teams as a member of the Value Creation Center team - support problem solving, research, analytics, and apply Bain’s consulting approaches and capital markets expertise to generate client-ready insights and solutions. The position reports into BCN VCC Senior Manager / Manager.
This role will focus on supporting BCN VCC Manager / Project Leader in solving complex problems, delivering client-ready insights and solutions, working with various internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the delivery of Corporate Finance engagements, including shareholder returns benchmarking and capital markets analysis across industries. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting financial diagnostics, valuation analysis, capital structure optimization, and long-term value creation assessments
- Support the development and commercialization of Bain’s intellectual property (IP) around corporate finance topics, including whitepapers, tools, and frameworks
- Proficient in research and analysis, but able to provide solid business judgment to derive answers in situations where data is not easily available or explicitly published, using Bain’s toolkit
- Implement rigorous quality control measures to ensure zero defects and deliver high-quality work
- Communicate data, knowledge, and clearly explain insights and implications for the client to the entire team. Generate and screen realistic answers based on sound reality checks and recommend actionable solutions
- Understand client/stakeholder needs and situations and adapt to expectations
- May manage simpler workstreams consistently and independently
- Effectively engage during client/stakeholder/ team meetings, deliver clear and professional presentations
- Support the development of IP
ABOUT YOU
- Work experience range in case highest qualification is undergraduate studies – 2-4 years (for postgraduate 0-3 years) of relevant experience in investment banking, equity research, or consulting with capital markets exposure and strong academic records
- Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, corporate valuation principles and ratio analysis
- Proven ability to connect financial performance to valuations and strategic business outcomes
- Strong knowledge of equity markets to generate compelling insights and equity story with a focus on ‘so-what’
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English
- Experience of working on consulting projects or with consulting firms
- Excellent problem solving, analytical, communication skills
- Preference for candidates with CFA or CPA with strong capital markets experience
- Demonstrated ability to work with advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of AI and Python are a plus
- Ability to deal with ambiguity, handle multiple tasks and dynamic case expectations
- This role requires you to be onsite 4 days per week, at our Santa Fe location.
