Extraordinary teams are at the heart of our business strategy, but these don't happen by chance. They require intentional focus on bringing together a broad set of backgrounds, cultures, experiences, perspectives, and skills in a supportive and inclusive work environment. We hire people with exceptional talent and create an environment in which every individual can thrive professionally and personally.

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

You will work with Bain's Chicago Recruiting team, collaborating with recruiters, consulting staff, school career offices, campus organizations, prospective candidates, and external partners to support Associate Consultant, Consultant, and intern recruiting efforts for the Chicago office.

WHERE YOU'LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM

As a member of the Chicago Recruiting team, you will collaborate with a highly talented group of individuals to develop, plan, and execute Associate Consultant ("AC"), Consultant, and intern program recruiting efforts for the Chicago office. As the Chicago Recruiting Associate, you will play a critical role ensuring the successful execution of recruiting events, processes, and candidate experiences. You will interact with prospective candidates, internal stakeholders, and external partners to support Bain's mission of hiring exceptional talent.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Event Planning & Recruiting Operations

    • Help drive execution of on-campus, in-office and offsite recruiting events, including managing invites, student sign-ups, RSVPs, catering, nametags, place cards and resulting candidate feedback.
    • Assist with and own parts of logistics for the full recruiting cycle, including events, interview days, and programming (e.g., food, space, travel, and materials) across both AC and Consultant hiring.
    • Support screening and interview logistics by providing execution assistance for senior team members with resume reviews, scheduling candidates using Avature, creating recruit records, and sending confirmations.
    • Assist in the interview process by managing interview schedules, supporting interviewer selection, taking detailed notes during debrief meetings, and managing candidate disposition communications.
    • Support off-cycle hiring efforts, including general application screening and management, referral tracking, and proactive sourcing.
    • Help senior team members support the offer and closing process, including logistics for and execution of welcome weekends (3–4 per year).
    • Support and participate in Chicago office AC and Consultant programming, including campus events, summer intern programming, and other related activities.
  • Communication Management

    • Communicate and correspond with recruits on a regular basis, including referrals; maintain incoming inquiries and applications and generate timely, appropriate responses.
    • Assist senior recruiters with management of external marketing communications with school career offices and on-campus clubs and organizations, including email campaigns, social media, invitations, campus flyers, and room bookings.
    • Provide clear, timely responses to consulting staff involved in recruiting, including interviewer schedules, managing commitments, and recruiting events. Draft and send responses to internal consultant leadership team members.
    • Respond to routine recruit inquiries professionally and escalate non-routine questions to senior team members as appropriate.
  • Administrative & Team Support

    • Partner with the team to staff consultants to recruiting events (the "event planner") for all Chicago-related recruiting programming and activities.
    • Utilize Avature for data entry, application and event management, applicant tracking, and reporting while ensuring candidate feedback is uploaded on a frequent basis.
    • Attend team meetings, take notes, schedule follow-up meetings as necessary, and work independently between formal touchpoints.
    • Monitor and proactively order recruiting supplies, including marketing materials, gifts, and office supplies.
    • Assist senior recruiters with the creation and management of AI-related tools to improve recruiting process efficiency.
    • Perform other administrative duties as requested or as responsibilities dictate.
