BCN plays a critical role in supporting Bain's case teams globally to help with analytics and research across all industries, for corporate cases, client development, private equity diligence or Bain intellectual property. The BCN comprises of Consulting Services, Knowledge Services and Shared Services.
WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH:
This role is based out of the People & ORG CoE which sits in the broader Data & Tech cluster at the BCN. People & ORG CoE works on building and deploying analytical solutions pertaining to Operating Model and Organization Practice. The team primarily helps Bain case teams, across geographies and industries, solve critical client issues by applying battle-proven diagnostics/ solutions that can identify client pain points related to org, culture, and talent. The team also plays a significant role in creating, testing, and contributing to the proprietary products and Bain IP within the Org domain. This role will focus on development, maintenance and evolution of the state-of-the art org tool and data assets.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Clean, harmonize and prepare large past client datasets (multi-wave, multi-region, industry, size bands) for analysis
- Conduct extensive analysis independently from large datasets using statistical techniques such as regression, tree-based models, partial-dependence etc. and present findings to senior stakeholders with proper facts and figures
- Work cross-functionally with Practice stakeholders, BCN teams, other survey/ data experts to ensure data & model integrity, and to understand business/client context
- Build reports, presentations, dashboards for internal stakeholders and external marketing/editorial use: summarizing insights, visualizing trends, producing clear narratives.
- Become an expert and own, maintain and help evolve advanced AI based tools by testing and verifying results confidence as well as help develop new tools, in individual capacity
- Design and execute statistical tests to validate synthetic-data generators and non-survey predictive models (distributional tests, reliability/validity tests, correlation structure checks, hold-out testing)
- Be responsible for end-to-end handling of any new tool testing process, i.e., determining statistical testing methods, troubleshooting low scores, presenting findings, leading brainstorming discussions, etc.
- Help with case delivery related to those tools and generate meaningful insights for Bain clients
- Work under the guidance of a Team Manager / Sr. Team Manager, playing a key role in driving the team’s innovation, especially on data statistics topics
- Lead internal team calls and effectively communicate data, knowledge, insights and actionable next steps on tool development, relaying implications to own internal team where necessary
- Keep abreast of statistical and methodological advances relevant to surveys, diagnostic tools, synthetic-data methods, relevant software/tools, and advanced data analytics techniques
ABOUT YOU:
- Candidate should be a Economics/ Statistics/ Mathematics Graduate/ Post-graduate from top-tier college with strong academic background
- Must have 2-3 years of professional experience focused on statistics/data analytics (ideally within consulting, market research, organizational diagnostics or data science)
- Strong foundation in statistical theory and methods (e.g., hypothesis testing, regression, mixed-models, reliability/validity, sampling)
- Hands-on experience with statistical software (e.g., Python (pandas/ statsmodels /scikit-learn) , or similar) and data-manipulation tools
- Experience with synthetic-data generation using AI and/or model validation frameworks (predictive, reliability, fairness)
- Good to have - experience working with survey data (Likert-scales, national/international datasets, multi-wave) and performing benchmark/norming analyses
- Good to have - Experience building or validating predictive/statistical models (preferably including synthetic data generation or simulation work) is a strong plus
- Ability to manage multiple work-streams, meet deadlines, and maintain high quality and accuracy in deliverables
- Good business acumen and ability to work collaboratively in a consulting-style environment
- Must be able to generate and screen realistic answers based on sound reality checks and recommend actionable solutions
- Must be willing to own and maintain high visibility and high impact product
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical senior stakeholders
