WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You’ll join our BCN ENR (Energy and natural resources) COE provides specialized support to global teams across the energy value chain, enabling clients to make strategic business and investment decisions. BCN ENR COE provides an opportunity to solve challenging business problems in a dynamic set-up working closely with global Bain teams, acting as a thought-partner with daily deliverables.
The chemicals team within ENR practice serves leading companies across domains such as chemicals, petrochemicals, and specialty chemicals. The team is primarily focused on collaborating with case teams on the development and deployment of industry specific analytical analysis and topic expertise to answer strategic questions of Bain’s clients in the chemicals space. Our teams work in a fast-paced environment delivering consistent and impactful results at scale.
This position is based in our Mexico City office for Bain Capability Network. This team plays a critical role in supporting consulting teams globally by driving cost reduction and optimization efforts across procurement, supply chain, and broader cost transformation initiatives.You’ll work closely with Bain consulting teams and subject-matter experts to deliver high-impact client solutions. As part of this collaborative and fast-paced environment, you’ll help shape data-driven strategies and innovative approaches to complex operational challenges.
WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM
As an Associate, you will be an active member for the team from Day 1 on BCN cases, driving the analysis on complex cases with some direction from a Project Leader and occasionally leading simple cases independently. In addition, associates help mentor and coach analysts by providing feedback. The expectation is to eventually provide significant direction and support to resolve complex issues and effectively manage client and team meetings.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
We are looking for a candidate who is self-starter, result-oriented, with hands on consulting delivery experience. Any exposure to data analytics as a part of delivering strategy engagements will be a plus. The role would require candidate to hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to take project/workstream ownership and manage complex case deliverables with minimal support, perform data and reality checks
- Develop strong understanding of chemicals and concepts and quickly come up to speed on new/different businesses across geographies
- Ability to generate hypothesis to answer complex business questions using sound business logic
- Identify and use relevant analytical tools and internal repositories to extract information (proficiency in excel, PowerPoint is must)
- Deliver client ready documents containing implementable solutions
- Effectively communicate with BCN in internal meetings and end clients (Bain case teams from any global office)
- Lead individual project work streams with the help of 1-2 directly aligned team members (analysts)
- Comfort to handle pressure and deadlines
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor’s degree (B. Tech/ B.Sc) with 2–4 years of consulting experience, or Master’s degree (M.Sc., M.Tech, MBA) up to 2 years of experience in consulting for chemicals/ oil and gas clients
- Candidate should be a team player and have excellent communication and problem-solving skills; ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure
- Should possess very strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Professional fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Ability to work in-office at least four days per week in Mexico City
