WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

You’ll work in collaborative teams made up of Directors, Managers, Project Leaders, Associates, and Analysts. Projects typically range from 3 weeks to 6 months, with delivery models that may include working as part of a broader Bain case team, independently with a Bain Associate Partner or Partner, or directly with clients. You’ll have the opportunity to partner with Bain’s global Consumer Products and Retail Practice leaders and client-facing teams across regions, gaining exposure to diverse business challenges and delivery formats.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As an Associate in the Consumer Products & Retail Center of Expertise, you will contribute to high-impact projects across global Consumer Products (e.g., F&B, Personal Care, Pet Care, OTC Healthcare) and Retail sectors (e.g., Grocery, Apparel, e-commerce, B2B). Working closely with Bain’s global case teams and leadership, you’ll help design and deliver analytics-driven insights that solve complex business challenges and create measurable client value.


  • Contribute to delivering analytics solutions and business insights across Consumer Products and Retail domains
  • Own complex workstreams with support from Project Leaders or Managers, managing 1–2 Analysts where applicable
  • Translate client needs into actionable workplans and outputs
  • Work with analytical tools (Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, KNIME, SQL, Python, R, Excel, PowerPoint) to synthesize data and generate insights
  • Perform robust data checks and ensure high-quality, error-free outputs
  • Drive client discussions and communicate findings clearly and effectively
  • Lead focused internal and client meetings to present recommendations and implications
  • Seek and provide actionable feedback in real time
  • Support innovation efforts through automation, visualization, and advanced analytics

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2–5 years of relevant experience in consulting, analytics, or a global MNC environment, or
    Master’s degree with 0–3 years of relevant experience
  • Strong academic track record with demonstrated analytical and leadership skills
  • Experience working in or with Consumer Products or Retail organizations preferred
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communicator, able to lead discussions and present confidently to senior stakeholders
  • Hands-on experience with analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, KNIME, SQL, Python, or R
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Understanding of statistical modeling and ability to generate simple, actionable insights from complex data
  • Knowledge of industry-specific data sources (e.g., Nielsen, IRI, shopper panels) is a plus
  • Familiarity with cloud tools (Azure, AWS) and exposure to LLM, GenAI, or ML models is a plus
  • Strong team player with the ability to mentor others and collaborate effectively
